It’s fun to eat and also quite satisfying to make something for the special people in your life. Sunday June 16th, is when we celebrate Fathers and Father figures. It’s likely that your loved one would enjoy a relaxing outing to a blueberry farm, and a great dessert. Also makes a great “kid-led” activity!

Are you (or your helper) taller than a cricket? Shorter than a giraffe? Then we have blueberries ready for you to pick and within easy reach. Everyone can join in the fun. Pick enough to make dessert now AND to freeze for later. Bringing a helper (or several) makes picking even easier. Buckets can be filled at any height.

Thank you to everyone who came out this week. These are some of the wonderful folks who came this past Thursday. The weather was great and the picking was easy-going. It’s nice to be able to offer a nourishing food like blueberries with this type of abundance, and equally nice to see folks interested in locally grown, healthy food. Our berries are grown with organic practices and we do not spray with any type of insecticide. The nutritional value of any fruit is highest the moment it is picked. So, local and fresh is definitely best.

If you don’t have time (or gumption) to pick, we offer Ready-To-Go bags that are picked, rinsed, sorted, bagged and refrigerated (or frozen). The size is the large 2 and a half quart bucket and the cost is $25 (that’s only $10 more). If you are interested, Facebook private message us to make sure we have enough time to do all the prep work. We take cash and PayPal. You can conveniently drive up, get them without having to get out of your car, and no one will know you didn’t pick them. (Other folks are doing this too.)

Upcoming Pick Days

Pick dates this week are Sunday June 16th (Father’s Day), Tuesday June 18th, Thursday June 20th. Hours are the same: Morning pick is 7AM-11AM and the Evening pick is 5PM – 9PM.

Freezing Tip

There are about two weeks left in berry season so get them while you can. Remember, blueberries freeze really well. Here’s a tip: Spread them in a single layer on a cookie sheet, and freeze for a few hours, then place them in a freezer bag. When you pre-freeze blueberries on a cookie sheet, you can easily take out any measured amount since they remain as individual berries and don’t all stick together. They are also really easy to snack on like this.
